Pages are counted per side, so a spread is two pages. Most layouts show two to four photos on a spread, so a book with 24 pages (12 spreads) holds 25 to 50 pictures.
A weekend or a day out
Choose a softcover or a 20 to 30 page hardcover. Fifteen to thirty pictures with a title page and a closing photo.
A holiday
Forty to sixty pages: a spread for each place, a few full-page favourites and a page for tickets and maps.
A whole year
Sixty to eighty pages in a large square. Four seasonal chapters of ten to fifteen spreads each is an easy structure.
Too many photos?
Pick one picture per moment, not one per minute. If you still have too many, make two books: a mini trio is a good way to split a trip.
