At 12 x 12 in (305 x 305 mm) a spread is 24 inches wide. Photos print large enough to see the detail, and a single picture across the spread fills the lap. Pages are printed on a digital press and bound in the workshop. Pictures need at least 200 dpi at print size; the designer warns about small ones, and pages near the spine lose a few millimetres. Layflat pages are mounted on board, so a photo can run across the spread without a gutter.
