A good photo card is about the photo, not the decorations. Here are five rules we use when we check customer designs.
Start with a sharp photo
Pick a picture that is at least 1500 px on the long side and shot in daylight. Blurry pictures get more blurry when printed.
Keep the text short
- One short line is enough
- Use a large, simple font
- Keep text 5 mm away from the edge
Use contrast
Light text on a dark area of the photo, or dark text on a plain area. If you cannot read it at arm's length on your phone, it is too faint.
Check the preview
The online designer shows the exact crop. Look at it twice before you press the button.
