Designing
How does the designer work?
Open a product and choose the design button. The print area shows the cut line, the bleed and the safe zone. Add text and images, and move or resize them. The preview updates as you work.
Which file types can I upload?
PDF, AI, EPS, SVG, PNG or JPG up to 50 MB; vector files or 300 dpi pictures print best. Choose Upload my print-ready file under Artwork on the product page. A person checks every file before printing.
Where do the templates come from?
From our template library: badges, labels, logos and party designs that open in the designer under Templates. Every product has its own set, and you can change every word, colour and picture.
Do I get a proof?
Yes, free on every order: a PDF proof by email within one business day, and we print only after you approve it. A printed hard proof by mail costs $12 and adds two days.
What are bleed and the safe zone?
Bleed is a thin strip of artwork outside the cut line, so a slight shift of the knife never leaves a white edge. The safe zone is a margin inside the cut line: keep text and logos inside it so they are not cut off.
Can you design it for me?
Yes. Choose Hire our designer under Artwork (from $12) and write a short brief in the box that appears. You get a proof and two rounds of changes before printing.
Materials and cutting
What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut?
A die-cut sticker is cut all the way through along the outline of your design and has no backing around it. A kiss-cut sticker is cut through the vinyl only and stays on a square backing sheet; it is easier to hand out and to peel.
Are the stickers waterproof?
Our vinyl and film stickers are waterproof and scratch-resistant; with the laminate they last about three years outdoors. Paper and kraft labels are for dry goods.
Why do clear and holographic stickers offer white ink?
On clear, holographic and metallic films the inks are see-through. A layer of white ink under the art keeps colours solid; leave it off where you want the film to shine through.
Which label material should I pick?
White film for wet, cold or oily products; white paper for dry goods; kraft for a natural look; clear film for a no-label look on glass. Add a laminate for scuff and moisture protection.
Ordering and delivery
How do roll labels ship?
On rolls of 250, 500 or 1,000 labels. If you apply them with a machine, choose the 1 in (25 mm) or 3 in (76 mm) core and the unwind direction on the product page; the label size guide explains both.
How long does an order take?
Standard production ships in 3 to 4 business days after you approve the proof (roll labels and buttons 4 to 5), then 3 to 5 business days shipping in the US. Rush production ships in 1 to 2 days for the price shown in the delivery table.
Is there a minimum quantity?
Stickers, labels, buttons and magnets start at 10 pieces, sheets at 5, hang tags at 50 and roll labels at 250.
Do you give discounts on larger orders?
Yes. The table under the options shows the price of every quantity tier; for stickers the price per piece drops 22 percent at 50 and 60 percent at 1,000.
