Open a product and choose the design button. The print area shows the trim line, the bleed and the safe zone. Add a photo, text or clip art, and move, crop or resize them. The preview updates as you work.

As a guide, a phone photo of 12 megapixels (4000 x 3000 px) prints well up to 20 x 30 in at 150 dpi and up to 13 x 20 in at 200 dpi. See the size guide for a table by size.

Bleed is a strip of picture outside the trim line. On a posters it protects against a shifted cut; on a gallery-wrap canvas it is the part that wraps round the sides of the frame. The safe zone is a margin inside the edge: keep faces, text and logos inside it so they are not cut off or hidden by a frame or a mat.

A canvas is ready to hang and has a soft, textured look; a poster is cheaper and lighter and is meant for a frame or a hanger. Our guide compares them.

The picture continues round the sides of the canvas frame, so the edge is part of the image. Keep important details away from the edges of your picture, because about 4 cm of it turns the corner. Mirrored edge copies the border of your picture onto the sides so nothing is lost; solid colour paints the sides white, black or navy.

Posters, canvases and photos are framed in solid wood: black, white, natural oak or walnut. The front is shatter-resistant acrylic, so nothing breaks in the post.

Standard production is 2 to 7 business days depending on the product, then 3 to 5 business days shipping in the US. Express production takes 1 to 4 days for the extra price shown in the Delivery option.
