The 11 oz (330 ml) mug is the standard coffee mug and the one most people picture. The 15 oz (440 ml) mug holds about a third more. Which one is right depends on three things.
How you drink
A flat white or an espresso-based drink fits comfortably in 11 oz. Filter coffee, tea with milk, or hot chocolate usually calls for 15 oz, because you can refill less often and still leave room for milk.
How much design you want
The print area grows with the mug. An 11 oz mug prints about 216 x 89 mm; a 15 oz mug about 235 x 95 mm. A short name works on either. A long quote, a photo collage or a pattern is easier on the 15 oz.
Where it will live
The 15 oz mug is taller and heavier, so it is better on a desk than in a crowded cupboard. For gifts to a whole team, 11 oz is the safer choice: it fits every shelf and dishwasher basket.
