Selling your first design as a Creator

A Creator does not make or ship anything. You publish a design, Makers print it on their products, and you earn a royalty each time it is produced.

From design to product

  1. Create the artwork and declare that it is yours.
  2. Choose which Maker products it can be printed on.
  3. Set your royalty and the licences you offer.
  4. The marketplace team reviews the design before it goes live.

Licences

  • Standard: the buyer uses the product for themselves.
  • Commercial: the buyer may sell what they make, within the licence terms.
  • Exclusive: only one buyer holds the design. Price it accordingly.

Make it easy to print

  • Simple shapes reprint well on fabric, ceramic and board.
  • Keep a plain version of the artwork for dark products.
  • Name the design so a buyer can find it: what it shows, not what you call the file.
