{"id":1726,"date":"2026-10-06T02:22:03","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T02:22:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.cmsmart.net\/stores\/cmsmart-poster-canvas-store\/index.php\/2026\/10\/06\/preparing-a-photo-for-a-large-print\/"},"modified":"2026-10-06T02:22:03","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T02:22:03","slug":"preparing-a-photo-for-a-large-print","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/demo.cmsmart.net\/stores\/cmsmart-poster-canvas-store\/preparing-a-photo-for-a-large-print\/","title":{"rendered":"Preparing a photo for a large print"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The designer does most of this for you, but a few checks save a reprint, especially on large sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Resolution.<\/strong> Aim for 150 pixels per inch of the print; the <a href=\"https:\/\/demo.cmsmart.net\/stores\/cmsmart-poster-canvas-store\/size-guide\/\">size guide<\/a> shows the pixels you need by size.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Original file.<\/strong> Upload the original from your camera or phone, not a copy from a chat app: it is usually much smaller.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Crop.<\/strong> Pick the size first, then crop; sizes have different ratios (2:3, 4:5, 3:1).<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Edges.<\/strong> On a gallery-wrap canvas about 4 cm of the picture wraps round the side: keep faces and text away from the edge.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Colour.<\/strong> Screens are brighter than print; very bright blues and greens print slightly softer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When the photo is too small<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A small photo can still make a good poster at a smaller size.
