These five checks take a few minutes and prevent most disappointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Use the original, not a screenshot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photos sent through chat apps are shrunk. Use the file from your camera or phone gallery. For a mug, aim for at least 1,200 pixels on the longer side; more is better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Leave room near the handle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The design wraps round the mug, and the handle covers part of the print. Keep faces and text in the middle of the area, not at the edges, and look at the safe-zone lines in the designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Choose simple backgrounds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A plain background keeps a portrait readable on a curved surface. Busy backgrounds can look muddy at small sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Expect warmer colours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Screens glow and mugs reflect. Printed colours are slightly less saturated than on a screen; a touch more contrast in the photo helps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Check spelling twice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We print what you approve.
